With the housing market on the rise, Jori Wilkinson decided to renovate her 400-square-foot farmhouse. She turned the house into a lovely home with a small budget of $7K and sold it for a whopping $1.5M! Take a closer look at her beautiful creation, and it may inspire you to do the same!
It took Jori and her husband Gage roughly 2 years to finish the renovation. "We got a full-price offer of $1.5M a week after the house went on the market!" Jori wrote in an Instagram post. So, what's special about this tiny home?
The first thing that draws our attention is the white paint, which adds a touch of elegance to the house. Plus, there are a couple of benches on the porch where you can sit and get a breath of fresh air. Does the interior also provide a calming space? Let's step inside and find out.
Step inside the house and you can see a cozy living room. At first glance, there seems to be a separate area behind the curtains, right? But it's just a mirror reflecting the other side of the room, one of Jori's tricks to make the space look bigger! And based on the reflection, can you guess what's opposite the vintage sofa?
The other side of the room features a fireplace, a good fit with the brown sofa and the other wooden furniture in the house. Imagine sitting around the fire and chatting with your friends on a cold winter night! In the meantime, you can also whip up a hot meal from the adjacent kitchen!
The kitchen also looks light and airy with the white shelves on the wall. Moreover, the beige countertop strikes a balance with the black cabinets, which together add an extra dimension to the open space.
Next to the kitchen is the master bedroom. It comes with a fancy bathroom and feels extra cozy when sunlight streams through the side door. Plus, to make this house more family-friendly, Jori also added a kid's bedroom!
Providing a crib and a mattress inside a tent, the kid's bedroom is both baby and toddler friendly. Jori clearly put a lot of thought into the renovation! And if this is not impressive enough, wait till you see the backyard!
Next to the main house sits an enclosed yard decorated with fairy lights and rustic furniture. It's a haven for whoever wants to wind down after a long day. And imagine snuggling up in the hammock on a rainy afternoon!
Jori and her husband did an outstanding job at revamping the farmhouse. And more importantly, they succeeded in making a fortune out of a short-time investment!
After selling the farmhouse, Jori wanted to keep putting her creative ideas into action. She and her husband purchased a trailer and planned to turn it into a lovely home on wheels! How exciting!
