Some films are supposed to be good but are then destroyed by major casting. What a pity! Here we have listed 15 major casting fails that ruined entire films.

1. Ralph Fiennes - Maid in Manhattan

"Maid in Manhattan" tells a Cinderella-like fantasy love story unfolding in modern day New York. The romantic relationship between the two leading roles in the film is devastating and thusly cannot resonate with an audience.

2. Gary Oldman - Tiptoes

In "Tiptoes", Gary Oldman who is of average height played the role of a little person. The fact that the director chose Gary Oldman to play this part of the leading role is mind-boggling.

3. John Wayne - The Conqueror

John Wayne played the main role in the movie "Conqueror". Perhaps at the time, the film worked for the audience. Today however, it is unbelievable that this movie was ever acceptable by anyone's standards.

4. Hayden Christensen - Star Wars Franchise

After the release of "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" in 1999, fans were wondering about who would act as teen Anakin Skywalker. Finally, it was Hayden Christensen who took the role of teen Anakin Skywalker.

5. Mickey Rooney - Breakfast at Tiffany's

Mickey Rooney played the role of the stereotypical Asian character in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". By modern standards, it would be very offensive, and it wasn't popular with audiences at the time, either.

6. Jake Lloyd - Star Wars: Episode I

Jake Lloyd played the character of Anakin in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace". Audiences may not like his wooden acting or cute look because they might think that it would bring too much immaturity to the Star Wars franchise.

Rosie O'Donnell once cast the leading role in the first animated American television series "The Flintstones". Rosie O'Donnell, though not ugly, is hardly petite.

8. George Clooney - Batman & Robin

George Clooney cast the role of the Batman in "Batman & Robin". In the film, his Batman suit wasn't so comical, and the whole movie needed a makeover to draw the audiences' attention.

9. Sofia Coppola - The Godfather Part III

Not so long after Sofia Coppola was born, she played the role of the infant who needed to accept the baptism at the end of the "Godfather." However, she was awarded with the worst newcomer and the worst supporting role in the "Godfather III".

10. Colin Farrell - Alexander

Farrell may play well in certain parts, like the criminal or tough guy, while he could not cast the role of the greatest leaders in the history entirely.

11. Sean Connery - Highlander

Sean Connery cast the leading role in "Highlander" with Christopher Lambert and Clancy Brown. His old Scottish accent made the film inconsistent and distracted from the story.

12. Denise Richards - The World is Not Enough

Denise Richards cast an intelligent nuclear physicist in "The World is Not Enough". We can safely say that she didn't play this role well in the film and was totally unconvincing for the part.

It was a good performance by Keanu Reeves in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", while he is not so proper for the role as John Constantine.

14. Kevin Costner - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Audiences were still wondering why the director chose Kevin Costner to play the role of Robin Hood in this film since he had a terrible English accent. Except for his part, it might have been a terrific movie.

15. Natalie Portman - V for Vendetta

Natalie Portman cast the role of Evey Hammond in "V for Vendetta". Natalie Portman is an excellent actress, but maybe she wasn't fit for her role in "V for Vendetta".
